When you associate a rate model to a project or demand, the rate model derives hourly rate for the resource plans and time cards associated with the project. The rate from the rate model is derived during resource planning or allocation, and during time card processing. * You can define the criteria of a rate model by adding attributes from project, demand, project task, user, group, role, or resource plan entities.* You can set any one rate model as the default rate model that is automatically associated to new projects and demands. The labor rates are based on the user attribute only, but the rate model derives the hourly rates based on up to 10 attributes from various pre-defined entities. This centralized and unified mechanism for use across ITBM business applications enables you to define different rates of a specific resource, group, or role for different periods. Use Rate Model to derive date-effective, criteria-driven hourly rates for calculating planned and actual costs for a project or demand. The Status Report tab displays the project status reports. You can create baselines and compare baselines from this tab to track changes occurring during execution of project or demand. The Financials tab displays breakdowns of cost components of a project: planned cost, estimated returns, allocated budget, cost plans, and benefit plans. The tab is available only to a project manager. The Resources tab enables you to find resources, and create and manage the resources plans for the project and project tasks. The tab also enables you to navigate to Project workbench and track your project in the workbench. The Planning tab opens the project in the planning console. The Details tab opens the project form and enables you to define important aspects of the project. The Analytics tab provides analytics on project aspects such as open risks, open issues, and delayed milestones. Resource plans require that the Resource Management application is active.Įnhancement and defect requests: Determine if you need the ability to manage enhancement and defect requests as demands. Any resource plans attached to the demand propagate to the project. Resource plans: Consider developing resource plans to help the organization understand the time and resource costs associated with the demand. For example, when considering which projects to undertake many organizations compare metrics such as risk rating, return on investment, and cost. Use these metrics to create bubble charts that visually compare demands. Identify metrics that are important to stakeholders, departments, and the organization. Then make them stakeholders for that portfolio.Īssessments: Consider using assessments to facilitate the information gathering process.ĭefine metric categories and assessment metrics to develop and distribute assessments to the appropriate audience. Stakeholders: Identify individuals who have the appropriate domain knowledge to evaluate demands related to each portfolio. Portfolios Determine how you want to group or categorize demands, and then have a user with the project manager role create portfolios based on those groupings. Roles: Determine who has the demand manager and demand user roles.
